Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a technique, invented in 1952 by Dr. Michel Pistor, where medication is injected into the mesoderm, the layer of fat and connective tissue under the skin. Over the past 50+ years, more than 15,000 physicians world-wide have used Mesotherapy for a variety of purposes.

In 1987, the French Academy of Medicine recognized Mesotherapy as an inherent part of traditional medicine. The International Society of Mesotherapy encompasses 14 countries throughout Europe and South America. Using a very tiny needle (0.4 to 0.6 cm or the size of an eyelash), the medication is injected into the mesoderm painlessly. Dr. Smith was trained in mesotherapy by some of the most recognized international physicians in the field of mesotherapy.

Pain Control

Mesotherapy treatment for pain usually results in immediate reduction of pain, which may last for weeks or months. A typical mesotherapy session will reduce the pain level by three to four points on a ten point pain scale. In some cases, the pain is completely resolved.

Fatigue and Cognitive Function

Mesotherapy injections can be used to detoxify and revitalize glands such as the thyroid, adrenals and ovaries. Improvement is usually seen within 24 hours, and in many cases within minutes of the injections. The resulting improvements can last for weeks or months before another treatment is required. One of the most exciting improvements we have seen are improvement in cognitive function using mesotherapy techniques.

While mesotherapy is an excellent tool for cosmetic improvement, we use mesotherapy primarily for the treatment of medical conditions such as fatigue, and pain. Mesotherapy offers the advantage of delivering medications deep into the body`s organ systems by delivering small amounts of medication into the acupuncture points on the skin affecting the organ. This can result in marked improvement in function with a procedure that is minimally invasive.
